Refurbishment of the Public building stock towards nZEB (REPUBLIC_ZEB)

Refurbishment of existing buildings towards nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (nZEB) offers a huge potential for energy savings. RePublic_ZEB project focuses on the Mediterranean and the South-East European countries, because of common conditions in terms of climate, energy performance and available renewables potential and aims at having a significant impact on the local energy policies and on the building industries and market. The main objectives are: to support the participating countries in capacity building and rising Energy Efficiency awareness of the nZEB policy; to identify the criteria and definition of nZEB; to ensure the way to refurbish the existing public building stock toward nZEB.

EuroPHit Project – Deep Energy Retrofits, Step-By-Step Refurbishments – Case studies

The EuroPHit project makes use of and promotes EnerPHit, a stringent and integrated standard available internationally for energy retrofits. The EnerPhit Standard, in turn, is based on the Passive House methodology and concept, a tried and tested approach to efficient building with over 20 years of positive examples to show. Learning from case studies: two projects are implemented in Gabrovo, Bulgaria: CS10 “St. Kiril And Methodius” Primary School and CS11 “Tsanko Dustabanov” Primary School, and one in Bansko – OP22 Villa Nina. PassREg project – Passive House and Renewable Energy concepts regions – Case studies

Individual projects will complement research on the regions in which they are built. These so-called beacon projects, real construction and refurbishment projects built in accordance with Passive House and supplied by renewable energies, are concrete case studies that also stand as shining examples within their areas. Two projects are implemented in Bulgaria: Kindergarten “Sun”, situated in Gabrovo and Burgas Art Gallery.
